How to Age Gracefully (and Still Kick Ass)

In this article, olympic swimmer Natalie Coughlin sites how she benefits from Visualization:
"Mind Training: 'I visualize a lot. I visualize what the ready room looks like, the walk up, the race. The mind is a muscle that needs to be trained, and that’s something I’ve worked on as I’ve gotten older. I can be highly focused now for hours on end, but it takes tons of practice.'"
Let me highlight one part of her quote.
It takes TONS of practice. Mental training is just like any sort of physical skill in that you cannot start using it in competition or difficult moments and expect it to work miracles. It takes practice, practice, practice. Yet when you do, you might just find yourself becoming the mental warrior you are meant to be.
